First Time 03:29
We're all entitled to a first time Each one is special like a snowflake And you'll never forget it Though you may well regret it, It could mean joy of it could mean heartache. CHORUS: Was it low, was it high; Was it wet, was it dry; Did it take you off to Wonderland? Was it planned, a surprise; Bring a tear unto your eyes; Come with applause or reprimand? Some folks got theirs in a four-poster bed; Some folks got theirs from a dude with gnarly dreads; Some folks were wasted; Some folks came out basted; Some folks lied about it just for the cred. (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) CHORUS Did yours leave you completely scarred for life; Did yours saddle you with a husband or a wife; Did it make you hoot and shout Or leave a bad taste in your mouth; Give you bliss or bring you strife? CHORUS Mine may have been a Nabokov affair, Dating older fellers with those pigtails in my hair; I'll let you speculate How it shaped me as a mate... Long as you speculate all night my dear. It was low, it was high; It was wet, it was dry; It took me off to Wonderland; It was planned, a surprise; Brought a tear unto my eyes; Came with applause and reprimand. CHORUS END
2.
My moonlight boy, my sunshine girl Both wrapped around me as it all unfurls, The long-lost loves that I never lost I'll find again at any cost; My moonlight mister and my sunshine dame I miss in ways I cannot explain; Will I find them together, will I find them apart? Will three melt into one diurnal heart? BRIDGE: If moonlight should fall upon his silhouette And she should cast lazy shadows; Without the wrap her her rays and his darkened gaze This field of mine shall lay fallow... My moonlight Johnny and my sunshine Jane Whisepering in either ear, it drives me insane; So soft and so firm, so calming, so strange; Melting to gray between ying and yang. My sunshine Siren and my moonlight Posiedon Wash over me in waves as I lay there beside 'em; My darlings, my lovers, coeur de la Mer, Vous-et telement sublime mes chers... END
3.
BRIDGE: I hear the chicken and boat and the gun and train St. Roch's own ex-super heroin/e Could you just not bear the thought of never seeing it again? Only leads to dead ends, dead ends, dead ends You left behind your dog and your darling Bear Banging that drum kit in the sky you'll never feel no fear Dead ends, dead ends, dead ends, dead ends BRIDGE CHORUS: She was the queen of the birds on a wire A telegraphed soul wrapped in superhero style Life could not contain her and after awhile She ripped herself open and she hopped the turnstile She snuffed out the light and she hopped the turnstile She ripped herself open and she hopped the turnstile She snuffed out the light and she hopped the turnstile Last summer I saw you on a bridge in Berlin What was it that made you want to jump on in? At the bottom, dead ends, dead ends, dead ends, dead ends Now I'll put on your corsage, We'll wear the skins of our dead in homage We all got dead friends, dead friends, dead friends, dead friends BRIDGE: We hear the chicken and the boat and the gun and the train (x4) CHORUS Now there's no one left to cut my hair And it's getting awful shaggy now that you're not here Look at these dead ends, dead ends, dead ends, dead ends I hear that hair keeps growing after you die Well you'll always be Rapunzel now in my mind, Dead ends, dead ends, dead ends, dead ends CHORUS BRIDGE END
4.
Leaver 04:06
CHORUS: Everyone loves a leaver, darling Just tell 'em you're getting out of town I'm your leaver, I'm your leaver darling You're pulling me up and down It's the same old story Yes he caught my eye Like a hundred before him Lord I was mesmerized Then I said I was leaving Catch a train next week He perked up, couldn't get enough Loved losing this winning streak CHORUS When I got down to New Orleans Suddenly I had a fresh start A country full of untied threads And a seamstress I am not I was fixing to ravel up my own ball of yarn When you came along and gave me pause Now we're all tangled up in each other's arms And I wonder if it's just because... CHORUS Now we're so hot and heavy Together almost every day You're like the whip cream and the cherry And I'm thinking that I might just stay But I'm afraid if I tell you Our love might just deflate You'll find out that my full allure Was my expiration date CHORUS END

I came to Montana to watch mountain men climb swing set poles And to finish up that novel while I filled in all those gaping plot holes Though life on the homestead had been mostly nice Botching my first pot of Rocky Mountain red beans and rice In that velvet-covered bear trap you had caught my wandering soul CHORUS: Narcissus staring into a frosty pool Gypsy versus mountain man now who would play the fool He says that he needs no one but can't stand to be alone It's his way or the highway but the highway is my home It's his way or the highway so I went back to my home It's his way or the highway... Though it seemed nigh impossible to dampen our eternal flame It didn't bother you it bothered me when or where you came The damage has been done now, I can't help but stew Will I get over this before I get over you? You demand evolution but always stay the same CHORUS BRIDGE: I don't know how it happened Were we too different to be apart? Is against all odds just an incomplete doomed from the start? You've got your little piece of heaven Well the rest of the world is mine The drama isn't me dear You're not happy if someone's not crying Well you better treat 'em right now, cuz some of them are friends But when it comes to me you'd be tough-pressed to make amends And I will always be the one that managed to escape your line CHORUS END
6.
CHORUS: I've got red rock dust in my pantalettes Fool's gold in my skirt Sometimes it takes silver in your flannel blouse To be a Rocky Mountain flirt Folks are gasping for air in this mountain town at the foot of old Zeb's peak Their hearts are a-flutter as they swoon and stutter is it the altitude or me? CHORUS If your mind is a-spinning around and around like a Conestoga wagon wheel Perhaps you overgreased the axels Surely you know the facts are Application with too much zeal CHORUS If your heart is colder than that old north face well you might just pass me by But since my hidden gems could cause an early melt Well I'll probably catch your eye CHORUS When you're digging deep into that mining shaft searching for pay-dirt Perhaps you'll strike it rich and find upon your arm a charming Rocky Mountain Flirt CHORUS OUTRO: Sometimes it take a lump of granite in your flannel blouse to be a Rocky Mountain flirt END
7.
CHORUS: The lights twinkle like stars on the mountainside And the clouds gather like gods hovering above Blossoms pink, yellow and blue roll past the columbine This thin air breathes a little bit thicker when you're in love This thin air breathes a little bit thicker when you're in love Life without love is living in that lonesome valley Where the cold, cold wind blows down from the mountaintop Life without love is living in that shady canyon Where the sun never shines and the temperature sinks like my heart CHORUS When it rains it pours The way I'd like to pour all over you Without rain we are poor If the sun always shines how will we ever know what is true? CHORUS And the cool, clear pool frosts over much to Narcissian dismay How to play with that eye turned inward? Skate along with my shadows They follow me anyway Everyday Can our shadows skate together? CHORUS END
8.
In the south they're soft and supple Moist and tender too Uniform in color Flow like gumbo stew But way up in the Rockies they're hard and miserable Make us twitch our faces Make mouth breathers of us all REFRAIN: I've got those Rocky Mountain Booger Blues Rocky Mountain Booger Blues Did they name the mountains for these boogers? And Denver's neighbor too 'Cuz it'd take some dynamite to extract this boulder, ooh You just blow 'em out It's like the mining days of old Keeps up mountain dwellers constantly digging for gold REFRAIN When your baby's lying next to you Curled up in bed, such bliss Nothing could disturb the mood Well, nothing 'cept for this Your baby nuzzles into you so glad that you're alone Except that nose up in your ear sounds like a slide trombone REFRAIN END
9.
CHORUS: I'm a girl of passing fancy and my eye's alit on you You'd better move quite fast 'fore it beholds another view Patience is a virtue These days virtue's so passé I'm a girl of passing fancy Yes my fancy's bound to stray I'm a girl of passing fancy so don't let mine pass you by If you capture my attention act quick 'fore that well runs dry Strike that iron while it is hot For it cools off so quick While I'm a captive audience You'd best pull out that... schick If you have turned this dainty head may I just recommend Show my your fancy passes I may be your “special friend” Well my fancy list is longer than a cat in heat's meow And I will cram it all in long as Venus will allow Today may be a sailor and tonight a banker too No matter your profession I've a position right for you Although I'm quite discerning I am flexible you'll see Show me your fancy passes You may be my cup of tea BRIDGE: Life is far too short for one flavor of a cone Today it might be chocolate the next, pistachio Strawberry and rocky road I spread it all about But now and then vanilla just to keep things balanced out CHORUS END
10.
INTRO: Addiction's more than just unsightly So don't think I say this lightly... I liked you better when you were on the drugs CHORUS: I liked you better when you were on the drugs That cloud of smoke counterbalanced your humbug Now you cleaned up and found God but I sure miss that heathen slob I liked you better when you were on the drugs Those grams helped you keep your anger at bay Now you're feeling every ounce of your pain Withdrawl's hard to contain but detoxing on me's inhumane I liked you better when you were on the drugs CHORUS Now you're hearing nasty things I never said Can't decide if it's you or me you wish were dead You clearly took them for a reason Now your demeanor ain't too pleasin' I liked you better when You were on the drugs CHORUS I don't do those things too much myself People give 'em to me they just sit up on the shelf But the way you're acting sober makes me wanna get messed up 'til October I liked you better when you were on the drugs FINAL CHORUS: I liked you better when you were on the drugs That cloud of smoke counterbalanced your humbug Now you cleaned up and found God But I sure miss that heathen slob You got that monkey out of your pool but he sure helped you keep your cool In your newfound sobriety you're bitching almost as much as me I liked you better when you were on the drugs (x3) END

Well I know that I'm searching for something and I can't rightly say I know what I've traversed the salt seas I've crossed lochs, bridges, quays And in each shining place I think I should stay put But my restless soul won't allow it Though my feet might tell me I should quit It's a big wide old world and I'll tramp on the soil of every darn meter of it CHORUS: So maybe I'll just toddle back to my swamp or maybe I'll stay in Berlin Or perhaps I'll be guiled by some tropical isle while I wait for this cycle to end or begin Or maybe I'll just never find it No matter how far I may roam Well I've hung up my hat in so many a town And I've still never found me a home And the people I meet are so charming They have talent and wit and finesse I have lovers and friends in the world's far-flug ends And I'm sad to part with them upon my egress It's like something inside me is broken when I dig up a hole to plant roots I might stick in a toe but then it's time to go 'Cuz the wind and I, we're in cahoots CHORUS Well I'm ready to drink the Kool-Aid on some magical, mystical place My soul is all bent and my flesh is all flayed And thought the tourism bureaus have plead a good case There's something I've always found lacking Wherever I happen to be I may do this or that It's distracting myself from the one simple constant It's me CHORUS END
12.
Well old Mr. Johnson had a cat he couldn't keep So he put it up for sale for a price he thought was cheap He took her to the neighbor's to ask him for advice He said, “Leave the kitty here, she can help me with the mice.” CHORUS: But the cat came back the very next day The cat came back He thought she was a goner But the cat came back She just wouldn't stay away... So old Mr. Johnson had problems of his own This little yellow cat that wouldn't leave his homestead He tried and he tried to keep that cat away But the cat had come back to stay... Mr. Johnson found a man who was driving way out west He would take the cat along as his special, honored guest The steering wheel was wobbly He drove into a tree The car was just a total wreck as anyone could see... CHORUS The farmer on the corner said he'd shoot that cat on sight So he loaded up his gun with nails and dynamite He hid in the garden 'til that kitty came around 97 pieces of that man were all they ever found... CHORUS Mr. Johnson bought a rig from the human cannonball He would put the cat inside with tri-nitro-glycerol And when he pulled the trigger the cannon gave a roar The neighbors all surrendered 'Cuz the thought it was a war... CHORUS There's plenty out there to bring us humans to our knees Aliens or plague or rampaging zombies It may bring hope or it may cause despair To think that if we disappeared somewhere out there... CHORUS (x2) END

Gator Thumbs 01:47
When gators grow thumbs We'll all be in trouble When gators grow thumbs We'll all be dead When gators grow thumbs We'll all be in trouble So let's just be thankful they have killer jaws instead When gators grow thumbs you may in trouble When gators grow thumbs you may be lunch When gators grow thumbs you may be in trouble Because they will be dining on the slowest of the bunch Now that gators have thumbs we all are in trouble Now that gators have thumbs just call it quits Now that gators have thumbs we all are in trouble Because they will be dining on hairless chimp and grits Hairless chimp and grits Suckers and grits Chumps and grits Hairless chimp and grits Now that gators have thumbs we all are in trouble Because they will be dining on hairless chimp and grits
